In Their Own Words

I thought I would let the students share about camp in their own words. So here they are:

Nick: It was pretty amazing. One of my most favorite parts about it is the free time. I really like the beach and recreation. (especially dodgeball) The concert last night was excellent. The speaker is awesome. It was a great experience.

Kendra: Well I really enjoy the beach and everything is so pretty, it really helps me realize just how great God is and all his creations. I didn't realize though how much i would have fun not just at the beach but at the celebrations, sermons, with the music and everything. It has been a memorable experience. :)

Emily: i have really enjoyed this past week! It has been great and amazing and several other emotions. I have really gotten closer tho GOD and some others in the youth group. the beach makes me realize how big GOD is! THe best part was singing at night down by the beach! it was so beautiful and moving. The most memorable experience yet! :)

Day 3

Worship last night was awesome. Kristian & David were used by God in a mighty way. Our student's lives were touched as well as our adults. We are having a great time. We are enjoying all the different parts of camp. Our cooks are keeping us well fed. Last night we had our devotion on the beach as we will do tonight.

Today I was chosen Youth Minister of the Day for the Camp. It is a great honor because I was nominated by my students & sponsors. I got to get up on stage and gangsta dance. I also received the Golden Spatula. This afternoon we won the camp dodge ball tournament! We were 4 & 0 in matches and won 2 games in under 1 minutes!

Tonight we have worship and a concert followed by a devotion on the beach. Please pray for us. Be sure to check out studentlife.com for more information on the week. Several of our students have their pictures on the camp website. I will try to more photos up tonight.

We Made It

We have made it to Student Life Camp @ the Beach. We had a good trip down here. It took us about 17 hours to get here. We were ahead of scheduel so our bus driver Dave suggested we stop at the US Alabama for a break. It rained on us at lunch time. We were here early enough that we were able to hit the beach before taking much needed showers.

Camp got off to a great start last night. Kristain Standfill got us up and singing. Dustin Rhoads asked us if we wanted a Happy Meal Faith or a Big Mac Faith in his message. When we got home our wonderful cooks, Rosetta, Mayra, & Amy, had ice cream sundaes for us.

Remember you can follow us camp also @ studentlife.com. Just click where it say "find your student". Please pray for us.

Here I Am!

Well here I am! I have finally taken the plunge into the world of blogging. My first few post will be about Student Life Camp @ Orange Beach, AL. I plan to share a few pictures and words each day while we are at camp. In the future I hope to write every now and then.

The hardest part for me when it came to blogging was coming up with a name. I chose "The Eclectic Reflection" because eclectic is one of my favorite words and describes me well. Basically the name means various thoughts about a lot of different things.

My blogs will cover a lot of different topics. I plan blogging about whatever inspires me to write. They may be short or long. They may be happy or sad. They may be lite or deep. In other words, you'll never know what you'll find here.

If you are still reading this, thanks.

Check back again soon.
